COVID-19: Cypriot Minister of Health imposes stricter measures after lack of discipline and rise in contagion over the weekend

From 31 March, 2020 at 6:00am stricter confinement measures put into effect.

Movement limited to once per day

Written certificates for transit only allowed for persons above 65 years old. The rest of the population may only transit sending an sms to the free number 8998, ONLY ONCE per day.

Larger out-of-court fines

Out-of-court fines to be imposed for breach of decrees increased to EUR300.

Prohibition of movement at nighttime

Transit between 9:00pm and 6:00am shall only be allowed to people with a valid work certification form.

Gatherings prohibited

Gatherings in houses of people who do not reside in a given house is prohibited.

Sunday closure

All retailers except kiosks shall remain closed on Sundays.

Stricter limitations on travelers admitted to the Republic

Only Cypriot students pertaining in vulnerable groups as regards to CoVid-19 and persons who traveled for medical reasons and have a relevant certificate from Cypriot diplomatic missions shall be allowed to enter and shall enter automatically in a 14-day quarantine.
